CALA
October 2015
In the heart of DTLA you will find different kinds of mixed-use space. In this project, we were tasked with designing a mixed-use center for architecture and urban design, in addition, provide amenities that would both serve the community and the students within the city. This design was poised on natural light and how to integrate that with a museum space. The building has a central stair as the focal point allowing viewers to visualize all the art and exhibition spaces as they circulate through the building, while providing lots of natural light. The stair also splits up the building into two separate zones, the light and the dark, giving space to each program.
